How to Counter Stress and Shallow Breathing

One of the first things that happens when experiencing stress is our breathing changes.  Observe how quick and shallow our breathing becomes.  One of the easiest ways to counter stress is to stop what you are doing and do some abdominal breathing exercises.  Using this technique, you will learn to use your diaphragm more effectively to fill your lungs with air and provide your body with more oxygen.

If you want to observe how this technique is naturally and perfectly executed, watch a baby sleeping on its back.  You will see that this is the natural way we breathe when we are truly relaxed.
